Murder at the Pie Auction & Complaint Department and Lemonade at the Yuba Theatre Oct 14 & 15, 2016

Sierra County Arts Council and local community theater group, the Sierra Turnpike Players,present two one-act plays, Murder at the Pie Auction by Michael Druce and Complaint Department and Lemonade by Kamron Klitgaard. Directed by Scott Ewing, the Sierra County Arts Council’s 2016 Artist in Residence, the plays will be performed at the Yuba Theatre on Friday, Oct. 14th and Saturday Oct. 15th at 7:00 PM.

Tickets: $12 for adults; $8 for children, students, and seniors over 65.  Available at the door or in advance at Downieville Day Spa or the Yuba Gallery in Downieville .

THE PLOT:  Complaint Department and Lemonade – People will complain about anything — not almost anything, but absolutely anything!  In this rapid succession of hysterical grievances, the complaint department takes on everything from Oreo icing to kleptomania and from songs stuck in the head to the price of cheese and on and on and on.  Could there be a glimmer of hope for anyone in charge of a complaint department? Come find out and join us for this fun, fast-paced and clever one act play.

THE PLOT:  Murder at the Pie Auction - The audience becomes part of the pie auction in this hysterical comedy. After years of trying unsuccessfully, the small town of Mynute, Alaska, finally lands the famous Mother Mabel’s Pie Baking Competition — but it was all due to a typo!  For various reasons, the contest looks to be a disaster, especially after the pie judge turns up dead.  The characters turn on each other as they try to figure out who committed the murder.  All have ample motive. Join us for an evening of big laughs, outrageous characters, and audience participation.
